Josh's voice has been cast in a new animated series that will be airing on Nickelodeon. It will premiere next year.
Nickelodeon has picked up two animated series: a spinoff of Nicktoons Network's "Random! Cartoons" that features a high-profile voice cast and an interactive series created by the team behind Nick's "Blue's Clues."
The network has ordered 26 episodes of the CG-animated series "Fanboy and Chum Chum," a spinoff of the "Random!" collection of anthology shorts, and has greenlighted 20 episodes of the math-themed "Team Umizoomi," which combines 2-D and 3-D animation with live action.
"Fanboy" centers on a fearless, comic book-loving 10-year-old named Fanboy (David Hornsby) and his best friend and trusty sidekick, Chum Chum (Nika Futterman), whose wide-eyed acceptance of the bizarre is the perfect complement to his friend's hyper imagination. The voice cast includes Jamie Kennedy, Josh Duhamel and Estelle Harris. "Fanboy" is created by Eric Robles and is executive produced by Robles, Steve Tompkins and Fred Seibert. It premieres next year.
"Umizoomi," which features miniature action heroes helping real preschoolers solve everyday problems by using math and is set to a pop-rock soundtrack, is in production for a 2009 premiere on Nick Jr., the weekday programming block targeting preschoolers. The series is created by "Blue's Clues" veterans Jennifer Twomey, Soo Kim and Michael T. Smith.
Both series are among the first developed under Brown Johnson, who was upped to president of animation at Nickelodeon and MTV Networks Kids and Family Group in January. With these pickups, animation production at the Nick Animation Studio will increase by 50% in 2008, with a total of 225 half-hours expected to be delivered next year.

I recently found this old promo for a General Motors sweepstakes that was synched up with the premiere of the first Transformers. I had never seen it before and Josh is hysterical in it. Enjoy!
Josh headed out to play some golf on Thursday (Aug. 14). Though he kept his visor pulled over his eyes, you can see that he did flash a smile on his way to the clubhouse. 5 pictures in the gallery.
Josh was mentioned in an article on Backstage today. To read the full article, click on the comments. ------------------
Several years ago at our agency, one of the mailroom staff got sick. My
assistant asked me if his roommate could come in and work in the
mailroom to make some extra money for a few days. I said, "Sure, have
him come in." In walked this tall, extremely handsome, charismatic guy
who just happened to be a beginning actor. He worked in our mailroom
for a few days, and one of the agents came up to him and asked, "Have
you ever acted before?" He said he had modeled a little bit and that
right now he was studying acting to better his craft. We all sat with
him as a group and decided that he was worth taking a chance on, as he
seemed so passionate and determined about the craft of acting. On his
second audition, he booked a three-year contract role on All My
Children, and at the end of his third year, he won a Daytime Emmy. That
actor was Josh Duhamel, who starred on the NBC series Las Vegas and was
the lead in Transformers. Josh had no credits when he came into the
mailroom, but he had a passion and a determination that made his lack
of experience seem moot. The rest is history.
